FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to subsurface engineering structures in inhabited areas and particularly to manholes of telephone and other service lines. Manhole unit is of reliable and durable design. Stationary and movable stops are arranged at side of supporting surface of lid. Their ends interacting with manhole throat are away from lid supporting surface by value which is larger than thickness of body throat thickness. Movable stop is turnable and provided with control head seated in sleeve which is sunken relative to lid plane. Locking device is located in control head body. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 4 dwg
