FIELD: drilling fluids. SUBSTANCE: invention confers drilling mud necessary operational parameters without additionally treating it by other chemical reagents and provides stability of its properties under salt corrosion conditions and drilled out rock action, while simultaneously accelerating formation of mudding layer upon drilling with this mud and preserving inhibition capability. Reagent contains (in wt %): starch, 4-8; sodium metasilicate, 0.5-6.0; sodium hydroxide, 0.1-0.5; aluminum sulfate or potash alum, 0.3-1.5; and water, the balance.
