FIELD: sanitary engineering technology. SUBSTANCE: this can be used in pumping stations with centrifugal pumps. To improve reliability of pumping stations without increasing number of stand-by pumps, provision is made of loading reservation (possibility of increasing capacity) of pumping units due to increasing their frequency of rotation by way of applying stepping-up current frequency converter. After failure of pump, rotation speed of pumping units remaining operable is increased to ensure preset capacity of pumping station. Upon restoration of failed pump, rotation speed of all pumps is reduced to nominal value. In this way, ensured is required reliability of pumping station without adding new pumping units. In addition, enhanced is possibility of pumping station to operate at peak loads which exceed design values at same number of working units. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
