FIELD: cleaning of effluent gases containing harmful components, for instance, oxides of sulfur or nitrogen of thermal power stations, boiler plants of various industrial enterprises. SUBSTANCE: device has vertical body accommodating successively arranged in its height, sections of regeneration of spent adsorbent, conversion of harmful components, cooling of adsorbent and adsorption of effluent gases. Installed over the entire height of body inner space are vertical partitions to form channels expanding downward for passage of carbon adsorbent and separating channels located between the above channels. Separating channels consist of heating and cooling parts and part for passing of gas to be cleaned. Flow of carbon adsorbent prior to its supply to adsorbent prior to its supply to adsorption section is cooled to minus 50-150 C in cooling section. Spent adsorbent is unloaded from the device and with adding to it of fresh adsorbent, fine fraction of adsorbent is separated from the obtained flow and removed for loading into the device.
