FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves recording arterial blood pressure and heart beat rate in rest state to calculate vegetative index (VI) from formula VI= (1-DBP/HBR)<195>100, where DBP is the diastolic arterial blood pressure, HBR is the heart beat rate in beats per min. Decompression rate is judged to be safe, if VI value grows with depth reduction and no gas bubbles are detected in circulating blood when decompression is over. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of the method.
