FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for effecting catalytic oxidation of gas-vapor mixtures in stationary conditions, especially for producing nicotinic acid finding use in pharmaceutical industry, fine organic synthesis, and agriculture. Installation enables producing industrial-grade nicotinic acid from 2-picolin on selective oxide catalyst utilizing simplified technology characterizing by complete lack of waste water and injurious gas releases. Installation provides for producing nicotinic acid via single-step gas-phase heterogeneous catalytic oxidation of 2-picolin by oxygen in presence of water vapor and contains: reactant-supply unit, contact unit, contact product isolation unit, and final product discharge unit, all units being in-series connected by transportation pipelines with valves and gates. Additionally included is automatic unit control system. Reactant-supply unit contains evaporator, proportioning pump, filter, blower, electrical heater, and pipelines leading to evaporator. One of those pipelines is proportioning pump- mediated feed line for reactant being oxidized through filter into evaporator and the other is air-, steam, and recycle gas-supply line through electrical heater. Contact unit consists of tubular contact apparatus with system to feed heat carrier into intertubular space through electrical heater or through heat exchanger. Reaction product isolation unit contains desublimator with pipelines leading to its cooling system, to apparatus for afterburning of a part of exhaust gases, and leading recycle gas into reactant-supply unit. Final product discharge vessel communicates through drying chamber with desublimator. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 1 dwg
