FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to transformable covering of large-span building or structure such as stadium. Covering has stationary part located above visitors' seats and transformable part located above play field. Covering of transformable part is made up of load-bearing trusses and light-transparent boards. With aim of reducing construction height of structure, trusses are transformed twice: initially in height when subdiagonal is raised upwards and is positioned inside upper girth of box cross-section, then truss is transported over stationary part of covering. This allows for reducing by 2-3 times of height of transformable part of covering. In this case, upper girth of truss is used in process of transformation as beam which takes own weight of truss. For fixing subdiagonal when extending downwards in working position utilized is vertical displacement of truss upper girth when it is subjected to action of external load. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 cl, 12 dwg
