FIELD: gas and oil producing industry; pumping-over well production in form of multi-phase, multi-component mixture. SUBSTANCE: method includes separation of mixture; before admitting the mixture to working chamber of pump, only part of it which was separated in course of separation of water is fed through suction valve of pump; remaining part of mixture together with oil and gas is directed to pump compression chamber through inlet valve. Device used for realization of this method includes piston or plunger pump with header and with at least one compression chamber with intake header; pump header is connected with liquid branch pipe of separator whose gas branch pipe is brought in communication with intake header of compression chamber of pump; fitted in between liquid branch pipe of separator and pump header is flow limiter for limiting the flow rate of water escaping from separator.
