FIELD: ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy; purification of industrial sewage and usual sewage. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out with the help of ion-exchange materials, adsorbent and/or reduction agent being used. Chromium (VI) is eliminated of industrial sewage or usual sewage by adsorption which takes place at pH less than 7 (2 ≤ pH ≤ 6 being preferred) and/or by reduction which takes place at pH less than 3. Lucerne seeds and/or clover seeds are used as adsorbent and/or as reduction agent. EFFECT: optimal conditions for rapid and effective elimination of chromium (VI) of industrial sewage and usual sewage are provided. 2 cl, 6 dwg
