FIELD: corrosion protection. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal constructions perpetually or periodically operated in seawater, especially hulls. Cathode protection station provides controlling and maintaining desired protection potential on hull against reference electrodes of its own different-polarity potential (e.g. silver chloride and zinc electrodes). In the course of operation, station itself determines type of utilized electrode and automatically switches itself into corresponding operation conditions. Cathodic protection system includes controllable constant current source, negative output of which is connected to hull, positive output to anode, and input to control unit output. System also has reference electrode, bipolar protection potential setup source, and reference electrode polarity detector. EFFECT: increased corrosion protection reliability. 1 dwg
