FIELD: electric arc generators. SUBSTANCE: device has alternating-to-direct current converter which has matching transformer and rectifier which is designed as bridge circuit using gates and is connected to matching transformer. Diagonal circuit of direct current of rectifier is connected to electrodes between which electric arc is generated, and to circuit for control of voltage at electrodes, which has unit for comparison of rectified voltage to required voltage level, and unit for regulation of position of electrode. Input of latter unit is connected to comparison unit. It controls relative position of electrodes. Device design uses single-phase alternating-to-direct current converter which has two serial phase-shifting circuit which are interconnected to matching transformer. First phase-shifting circuit has choke, second one has capacitor. Each phase-shifting circuit is connected to corresponding input of rectifier. In addition device has additional gates which have generic point which are connected to generic point of phase-shifting circuits and are connected to rectifier output in same polarity with rectifier gates which are connected to electrodes. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 16 cl, 24 dwg
