ANCHOR FOR SEA-GOING VESSELS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2111886 C1

FIELD: anchoring sea-going vessels on various types of soil. SUBSTANCE: anchor has anhedral palm with shank secured to it and provided with shackle for anchor cable. Rear unit is inclined relative to palm at an angle of α and is used for creating the torque about the point of attachment of anchor cable counteracting to torques created by friction forces acting on palm and shank and edge resistance forces in submerging the anchor to enhance its holding power; opening for passage of soil between rear unit and palm provides for flowing of sand and ooze running under palm. Shape of peripheral edges of rear unit makes the anchor roll to the submergence position. Nose portion before palm which is turned upward enhances efficiency of anchor in clayey ground, as well as facilitates holding of anchor in rocky ground. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of anchor holding. 14 cl, 10 dwg
