FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a method of safety intravenous administration of fatty acid or fatty acids, in part, the main fatty acids of order n-6 and n-3. Indicated substances or their part are administrated as lithium salts. Plasma lithium concentrations are monitored periodically to prevent hemolysis and maintained preferably at level 0.7 mM, not above, for the long time and preferably at level 0.4-0.5 mM also, not above, for the first 24-48 h. Alternatively, their content is maintained at level representing a definite part of above indicated level values in the case if only part of lithium salts is administrated of fatty acids to be used. Method can be used for treatment of cancer and infectious viral diseases requiring plasma high fatty acid level maintenance. EFFECT: improved method of administration. 9 cl
