FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: fairing has gradually mating upper, front and side surfaces. Upper surface is formed by two symmetrical V-shaped reversed wing surfaces whose front edges are arranged lower than middle plane of cab roof, and rear edges coincide with front ribs of hood roof slopes so that angle between the surfaces measured in plane of front wall of hood is equal to angle between roof slopes. Continuous front and side surfaces are formed by moving variable length piece so that lower end of piece is moved along elliptical section curve symmetrical relative to central longitudinal plane of vehicle and lying in plane of lower base of fairing. Upper end of piece is moved along central vertical axis formed by intersection of central longitudinal plane of vehicle and front wall of hood. If hood side walls are vertical, shaping piece forming rear ribs of side surfaces is located in position coinciding with plane of front wall of hood and its upper end is displaced upwards ad infinitum. If hood roof is flat, angle between edges of V-shaped wing is equal to 180 degrees so that upper surface has no longitudinal bend and its rear edge is mated with front rib of hood formed by intersection of planes of its roof and front wall. In case of relatively small rise of hood roof over cab roof, common front - side surface formed by movement of piece is divided into two side surfaces by front part of surface of V-shaped wing intersecting directly with plane of fairing base. EFFECT: reduced aerodynamic drag of vehicle with hood or van body having different shape of roof, two-pitch roof in particular, or different degrees of rise of body roof over cab or different angle of inclination of side walls. 4 cl, 7 dwg
