FIELD: strengthening technology, more specifically, methods of strengthening internal (fit) holes of abrasive wheels operating at high velocities or working in forced grinding. SUBSTANCE: strength of abrasive wheel is increased by changing structure of abrasive wheel at hole due to reduced volume of pores of insertion of mandrel which results in occurrence of residual stresses of the required sign and formation in hole surface layer of residual compression stresses due to difference of thermal expansion coefficients of mandrel and material of binding of abrasive wheel in the course of sintering process.
