STOPPING DEVICE FOR REPAIR OF PIPE LINES Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: repair of pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: stopping device includes transportation module, mechanisms for expelling the filling mixture, radial feed of this mixture and application of it on inner surface of pipe line; device contains also heater. Expelling mechanism is split; it consists of two parts: fixed part connected with transportation module and movable detachable part connected with fixed one by means of levers. When detachable part is disconnected, container with filling material is placed in this part, after which it is connected with fixed part. Device is introduced into pipe line and is moved towards section to be repaired, after which filling material is expelled into clearance between blade of radial feed mechanism and wall of pipe line. This done, material is smoothed out by means of blade and is polymerized by means of heater. Transportation module extension and rotation mechanism is used as drive for mixture expelling mechanism.
