FIELD: plastic working of metals, in particular, cold rolled channel section production. SUBSTANCE: piece-by-piece forming mill has duo mill stands arranged in succession, chocks disposed in frames and gaged rolls equally spaced one with respect to another at space of S. Lower chock of penultimate stand is mounted for movement in parallel with longitudinal mill axis in forming direction for value of (4-6) S, with roll space in penultimate mill being within the range of (0.90-0.95) S. Flexible members, such as springs, are positioned between vertical faces of lower chock and frame columns of this mill. Total compression force of flexible members is determined by empirical formula. Formed billets have ultimate strength not in excess of 470 MPa. EFFECT: improved qualities of roll-formed shapes and reduced metal usage. 2 dwg
