FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: underground ventilation unit has working air blower and auxiliary air blower which are located in chambers driven at distance from each other so as to exclude their influence on each other. Distance between them is determined from following relation: L>Lg, where L - width of pillar between chambers, m; Lg - distance at which underground workings influence each other, m. Conjugations between connecting elbow and inlet passage are hermetically sealed. In this case, folding doors are installed in tee-pieces of inlet and outlet passages. Sealing of inlet passage with connecting elbow is effected by means of flexible tape which is secured in cut. In addition, circular slot created at place of conjugation of outer surface of connecting elbow and inner surface of inlet passage is filled with plastic mass. Aforesaid arrangement allows for increasing stability of ventilating unit chambers and leading underground workings. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl
