FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of complete dechlorination of polychloroaromatic compounds of general formula: [Ar(CH2)кClm]n, wherein n is 1 or 2; K is 0 or 2; m is 2 or 4. The claimed method comprises reacting said compounds with silanes of general formula: HSiR3 in which R is C2H5 or OC2H5 at molar ratio of components of 1 to (1.1-1.2), respectively. Reaction is carried out in the presence of nickel containing graphite oxide-based catalyst having 10-12 wt % nickel. Due to stability and activity of catalyst, dichlorination process is carried out many times using one catalyst portion which is readily separated from reaction mixture and is then retained under ordinary conditions without losing catalyst activity. EFFECT: more efficient dichlorination method.
