FIELD: instrumentation, flaw detection in ferromagnetic material and articles. SUBSTANCE: given device includes electromagnet, line converter of magnetic field and video tester. Electromagnet is fitted with four small wheels located on outsides of its poles. Gap is formed between poles of electromagnet and object of test with installation of electromagnet on wheels on surface of object. Orthograph is moved over surface of object by stepping electric motor kinematically coupled with wheels. Value of movement is set by digital-to-analog converter and controller of power of motor. Operator controls orthograph from control desk. Measurement data are visualized on display. EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of orthograph. 2 dwg
