FIELD: communication. SUBSTANCE: a binary signal of pseudorandom noise is transmitted from light guide connection unit together with intelligence signal, and of optical signal is transmitted back to the connection unit and there, together with optical signal received from the opposite side, it is applied to optoelectric transducer; optical reception signal is subjected to correlation with the initial one, meanwhile delayed in time by binary signal of pseudorandom noise; after that the obtained amplitude of correlation, with due account made for the time of signal passage, indicates appearance or respectively non-appearance of binary signal of pseudorandom noise reflected from passive joint.
