FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: claimed silicates are used as coloring pigments in plastic materials, points, coatings, rubber ceramics, glass, paper, ink, cosmetics, and in multilayer coatings. Claimed silicates have general formula: MCuSi₄O₁₀, or MCuSiO₂O₆ or MCuTiSi₃O₉, wherein M is alkaline-earth metal in the form of agglomerates of average size of not greater than 20 mcm consisting of monocrystalline grains or agglomerates from monocrystalline particles. Silicates are prepared by method which comprises mixing silicon dioxide sol or silicate or optionally titanium sole with other composite silicate elements, except for oxygen.
