FIELD: metallurgy and mechanical engineering, in particular, methods for increasing service life of steel and iron shots used for shot-blasting of castings and parts after hot plastic deformation. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of shot with pulse magnetic field with intensity of 2•104-9•104 A/m and frequency of 600-1000 Hz for 1/2 π, where π is frequency period. EFFECT: increased service life of shot due to directed change of properties.
