FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: prestressed covering panel is intended for use in large-span buildings and structures and also for use as load-bearing members in transportation galleries, pedestrian underpasses, and other similar objects. Prestressed covering panel is actually light-weight thin reinforced concrete slab which functions as upper girth. Connected to upper girth are metal fortifying members made in the form of spatially oriented subdiagonals which are formed of grate rods and lower girth. Reinforced concrete slab is additionally provided with curvilinear girth made up of bunches of high-strength reinforcement steel bars or steel ropes with hangers or posts connected to units of lower girth which incorporate tensioning device. Ends of curvilinear girth are secured in end members of reinforced concrete slab. Units for connection with reinforced concrete slab contain metal strips which are oriented in space in three directions. Units for connection with reinforced concrete slab also have additional strip which is oriented in direction of axis of angle brace and is rigidly connected to other strips. Prestressed covering panel is sectional and is made up of several thin ribbed plates which are rigidly connected in units by metal cover plates welded to metal members of units. Joints between plates are made monolithic by concreting. Aforesaid covering panel yields efficient performance characteristics due to its high load-bearing capacity, improved rigidity, reduced amount of metal to manufacture, and low cost.
