FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed to be used for surgically treating corneal opacities with different etiology which are accompanied with complicated cataract. Extraction of cataract is started with formation of round incision in the center of anterior capsule while simultaneously removing crystalline lens substances with the aid of viscous preparation. Posterior chamber lens is implanted in two steps. Lower abutment element is inserted into lower capsular pocket preliminarily filled with viscous preparation. Incision in the anterior capsule is closed by lens body by way of moving lens into horizontal position. When the second abutment element is brought to lens body, capsular sac is filled with viscous preparation. Edge of the anterior capsule is now drawn upward and, at the same time, upper abutment element is inserted into capsular sac. Diameter of incision formed in the anterior chamber should be less, but not more than by 1 mm, than diameter of implant body. EFFECT: enabled atraumatic extraction of cataract and complete intracapsular fixation of lens when anterior chamber is virtually absent.
