FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: fuel elements are installed within nuclear reactor in relatively parallel position with gaps bridged on top and at bottom. Two pressurized spaces are formed within reactor: (a) water space including spaces inside fuel elements which is part of water loop; (b) gas space including gaps between fuel elements which is part of gas loop. Plant incorporates pressure equalizers which are, essentially, pressurized vessels communicating with pipeline delivering water to reactor and that feeding reactor with gas coolant. Reactor also has compressor used to transfer gas from gas loop to vessel. Some portion of gas is conveyed past reactor to gas turbine that drives circulating gas blower. EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of nuclear power plant. 7 cl, 4 dwg
