FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear reactors on fast neutron with heavy liquid metal coolants. Method is characterized by fact, that value of damaging dose of fast neutrons (dpa number) is determinated, causing inadmissible reduction of steel plastic properties. Then, when reaching corresponding values of reactor energy generation, heat carrier movement direction is changed from operating to reverse. Further, selected time during which annealing of core elements will be carried out, then selected and providing annealing due to power level of temperature control not below such, that provides recovery steel plastic properties in the lower part of core for selected time. After expiry of chosen time annealing mode is completed heat carrier movement direction is changed from reverse to operating.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of radiation defects annealing and recovery of steel plastic properties directly in reactor.
