FIELD: plastic working of metals, in particular, straightening of binding wire and wire wastes having curvilinear axis. SUBSTANCE: wire straightener has rolling device, device for drawing wire through spinneret and unit for separate preparatory straightening. Ends of wires straightened in preparatory straightening unit are introduced through prestraightening device, guiding sleeves, spinnerets, stopping devices and grips on traverses. Upon switching of reciprocating drive, cross-pieces connected with drive and one with another through stems on bearings provide progressive motion of wire by grips through roller blocks and stopping device to wire straightener exit end and further onto pallet. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities by correcting deformed surfaces and section, simplified construction and improved quality of wire. 2 cl, 9 dwg
