FIELD: cementation of surfaces of cast iron parts. SUBSTANCE: method for nitrocementation of rubbing surfaces of cast iron parts, mainly piston rings comprises steps of carrying out nitrocementation at temperature 540-600 C and pressure 3-7 atm for 50-60 min in sealed converter, charging converter in furnace in such a way that its working compartment with chemical reactive and parts to be cemented is placed in heating zone of furnace and its cover is arranged outside it. Working compartment of converter is restricted by its outer wall and at least by one inner wall.
