FIELD: engine manufacture; fuels and lubricants for internal- combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: method involves fuel turbulization and its passage through DC magnetic field at angle α = (0°-88°) or α = (0°-88°)+180° to plane along magnetic field lines of force that crosses region where greatest number of these lines are acting at magnetic field strength H = 100-30 000 Oe, exposure of engine lubricants and metals to thus treated fuel while engine is running for time t of at least 1 s, this action being repeated in time interval T = (1-10T = (1-106)t6)t within which fuel and fuel-air mixture are treated by exposing them to catalytic effect of treated lubricants and metals of engine. This method is implemented by device that has fuel tank, gasoline pipeline, fuel transfer pump, and magnetizing facility incorporating nonmagnetic case accommodating DC magnetic field source with magnetic circuit around flow channel of gasoline pipeline made in the form of horseshoe whose ends are interconnected through jumper and which has through slit in center of its arc; inner ends of slit edges are beveled. Flow channel is passed through this slit at angle to its edges. Jumper mounts DC magnetic field source whose poles are positioned perpendicular to horseshoe plane.
