FIELD: communications engineering; systems for transmitting digital data over metal and fiber-optic cables or radio- relay channels. SUBSTANCE: device that has data signal source, pseudorandom train generator, first and second commutators, control unit, first pseudorandom train analyzer, and storage element on each terminal station as well as forward and reverse regenerators and, respectively, artificial line, storage element, switch on each intermediate station, is provided, in addition, with third commutator, second and third pseudorandom train analyzers, error indicator all introduced in terminal station as well as fourth commutator included in intermediate station. Third and fourth commutators enable forming pseudorandom train generator and analyzer with commutation structure; remote-control signals are presented by pseudorandom trains of different lengths. Remote-control signal is transmitted over same circuit as working signal dispensing with transmission channel for diagnostics. Remote- control command receiver and transmission characteristics analyzer used during remote control are built around same pseudorandom train analyzer. Test-signal generator functions at the same time as remote-control command shaper and is made in the form of pseudorandom train generator. Remote-control device is suited for any digital information transmission system irrespective of line transmission code.
