FIELD: lumbering works; forestries. SUBSTANCE: crushing of branches is performed at cutting speed 7.5-13.0 m/s. Device for realization of the method has rotor with subblade gullets. Depth of the latter equals to 0.6-0.8 of maximum diameter of branches being crushed. This depth is measured from radial lines passing through cutting edges of blades. Branch pipe of body is made widening. Chip duct is of segment shape. Pneumatic separation assembly is positioned above blade rotor. It has receiving pockets for three fractions and trough for returning of middle fraction to blade rotor. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 3 dwg
