FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: dummy system of skin thermal and physical simulators is used for determination of temperature fields in under-costume space. Structure of material packets is set, that is number of layers and value of air gaps in rated cells measuring 50x50 which constitute set. Conditions of their irradiation or orientation relative to radiation source are determined. Variation of absorbing property of packet surface material of rated cell is determined depending on irradiation conditions and relation of direct scattered radiation. Method includes determination of decrease in rated cell burn area depending on structure of surrounding material packets and determination of change of acting power pulse due to products of thermal decomposition of materials. Then heat-shielding properties of rated cell material packets are estimated. This done, heat-shielding properties of set of individual protection means as a whole are determined. EFFECT: reduced material costs, high accuracy of determination of protective clothes heat-shielding properties. 5 tbl
