FIELD: cooling agent, heat- transferring medium, gaseous dielectric, foaming agent for polyolefins and polyurethanes. SUBSTANCE: claimed composition comprises (wt %): 15-70 octafluorocyclobutane (coolant C318): and 1,1-difluoro-1-chloroethane (coolant 142b), the balance. Optimum content of octafluorocyclobutane is 60+-5 wt %. This corresponds to azeotrop having boiling temperature of 14+-1C at atmospheric pressure. The claimed composition is fire proof, since if coolant 142b leaks, concentration of combustible ingredient does not occur. EFFECT: improved properties of the binary composition. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex, 4 tbl
