FIELD: enameling of large-diameter pipes for main pipelines. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of pipe surfaces to be enameled, successively, by sections over entire length of rotary advancing pipe, deposition of enamel, firing of enamel coating and subsequent cooling of enameled pipe. Heating of pipe surfaces to be enameled is carried out in their vertical position up to temperature of enamel melting with concurrent application of enamel to hot sections of enameled inner and outer surfaces of pipe. Enamel is deposited by powder spraying, and firing is carried out during back rotary advancing motion of pipe through the same induction coil. EFFECT: higher efficiency and reduced energy consumption. 5 cl, 1 dwg
