FIELD: automation equipment, in particular, automatic systems for cargo storage and accounting. SUBSTANCE: device has unit of infrared light emitters, two groups of photodetectors, clock oscillator, discrete signal amplifier, two groups of discrete signal amplifiers, two registers with parallel information writing, two pulse generators, two AND gates, OR gate. In normal operation mode of all device units, all inputs of OR gate receive equal pulses. Register stores logical zero which is further transmitted to device output. If at least one emitter or optical channel is fault, OR gate receives logical one and outputs also logical one, which is stored in registers and transmitted to device output. This provides information about device failure. Movement of code plate results in sequential closing of lights in optical channels for their simultaneous closing and opening. In case of simultaneous closing of optical channels, register receives logical ones which are received by AND gate and then to second input of AND gate. When one channel has been opened, register receives logical zero through its either first or second information input. Then input of AND gate receives logical zero, so AND gate locks strobe pulses at synchronization input of register 6. This results in storage of register content until next code plate has been read.
