METHOD OF GROWING STRAWBERRY IN HAZARDOUS AGRICULTURAL ZONE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: horticulture, in particular, commercial strawberry growing under unfavorable climatic conditions in lands poor in chernozem. SUBSTANCE: method involves growing strawberry on trapezium-shaped ridges formed in spring and extending from the South to the North; making triangular planting hole on planar top of ridges and simultaneously providing local band application of mineral fertilizer. Working trapezium-shaped ridges are formed by means of combined unit during rotavation of interrows of primary triangular ridges cut in autumn. Relief of strawberry growing field allows snow cover to be uniformly distributed over it in winter and soil to be quickly heated in spring.
