APPARATUS FOR COUNTER-FLOW CONTACTING OF GRAINY AND LIQUID PHASES Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: apparatuses for counter-flow mass transfer between grainy and liquid phases with subsequent separation of solid and liquid phases and transfer of prepared definite portion of grainy phase to the subsequent stage of process, applicable in chemical and adjacent branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a cylindrical casing with a bottom, drain magazines in the casing, distributor of source liquid phase, pipes and branch-pipes for inlet of source liquid and grainy phases and outlet of used ones, feed bin for source grainy phase and on overflow pocket with a circulator. The apparatus casing accommodates a stabilizer of grainy phase downward current made in the form of a grate located in cross-section of the cylindrical casing above the distributor of source liquid phase. In addition, the apparatus has a discharge-separation-conveying device made in the form a chamber furnished with a drainage with a liquid phase outlet branch pipe in the lower part, branch-pipes for inlet and outlet of grainy phase and an air pipe connecting the chamber to the atmosphere and furnished with a liquid phase feed branch pipe.
