FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding facilities. SUBSTANCE: proposed device is designed for resistance welding of vessel shells. At least one of guide rollers 3-8 in directing-and-calibrating tool 1 for directing the shells at welding is furnished with drive. Driving is provided pneumatically by delivering compressed air through nozzle 12 into cavities 10 in roller. Drive of roller is set into operation only at starting of welding machine or at interruption in series of shells. It precludes braking in directing tool 1 of first and, in extreme cases, of second shell. Distance between shells at beginning of series can be maintained constant. Heavy sliding between shells and welding electrode at welding of first shells is precluded. EFFECT: simplified drive of calibrating rollers, reduced cost of operation at high quality of welding. 10 cl, 2 dwg
