SUBSTANCE: present invention describes 4-benzoylisoxazole of formula I: wherein R is H or -CO₂R⁵; R¹ is cyclopropyl; R² is chlorine, n-alkyl, possibly substituted by halogen atom, n-alkoxyl or S(O)_pR⁶¹; R³- -S(O)_nR⁶; R⁴ is chlorine, bromine or S(O)_qR⁶¹; R⁵ and R⁶¹ are n-alkyl; R⁶ is alkyl or alkylene; n, p and q are 0.1 or 2 provided that when R² is S(O)_pR⁶¹, one of n and p is zero. Desired compounds are prepared by reacting compound of formula V with compound of formula II with hydroxy amine or hydroxy amine salt or reacting compound of formula V with compound R⁵O₂CC(Z) = NOH, wherein Z is halogen atom.
