FIELD: powder metallurgy and foundry. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to production of modifier in granules and briquettes for modification of pig irons and steels and manufacture of welding materials. Process includes mechanical comminution of lump material in atmosphere of protective gas in presence of film-forming composition and vibroshaking. Technological operations in this case are carried out under pressure excessive with reference to that of air environment. Comminuted product is classified and powders of specified grain size on which base mixture of charge materials is prepared are separated. Powders of iron are injected into mixture. Obtained mixture is subjected to compaction. Technological line for implementation of process has leak-tight hoppers, crushing and comminuting plants, plant classifying comminuted material by grain size, plant for preparation and feed of film-forming composition, pipe-line of protective gas of closed gas exchange system, plants for metering and mixing of components of charge, briquetting plant. Plants are arranged according to operations independently with stage positioning of equipment in each of them. Each plant is connected to distribution and return pipe-lines of closed gas exchange system by means of taps. Hoppers are manufactured in the form of portable sealed containers. EFFECT: expanded technological capabilities, ecological cleanness, enhanced production efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
