APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATIC ARGON-ARC WELDING OF ROTARY BUTTS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: welding equipment, particularly, apparatuses for automatic argon-arc welding of rotary butts inside shops. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes base with strut mounted on it and supporting welding head, mechanism for moving it and tube for supplying shield gas to welding head, rotating unit and control system. Apparatus also includes touch-free pickup, supporting nut, rigid pipe, removable pipes and nozzle. Rotating unit is in the form of rotary table driven by means of electric motor with buildup tachogenerator. Rigid pipe is mounted vertically in center of rotary table and it is joined with removable pipes. Cantilever type leaf spring with additional nozzle secured to it is mounted on upper removable pipe. Strut has outer thread for engaging with supporting nut. EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, enhanced quality of welded joints. 2 cl, 2 dwg
