SUBSTANCE: method for tuning to a frequency channel from available set involves requesting control channels and measuring power levels of signals in control channels, comparison of measured power of signals in control channels to threshold leads to attempt of establishing communication with transmitter of these data signals. In case of impossibility to establish a communication, receiver is switched for given period and then switched on again in order to measure power level of signals in control channels once again. Attempts for establishing communication to transmitter, which sends signal through a control channel is repeated if measured power level in control channel is greater than threshold.
