FIELD: highway engineering, more particularly preparation of binder component for asphalt concrete coatings. SUBSTANCE: rubber crumb and petroleum asphalt are oxidized with atmospheric oxygen at air consumption rate of 0.4-1.4 l/min/kg for 12-16 h, the ratio of components being as follows, wt. %: rubber crumb, 6.5-3.0; and petroleum asphalt, 97.0-995.
