FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: primer is applied to fireproof substrates before applying thermophosphate pastel onto piece of painting. In addition to kaolin and milled siliceous filler, primer comprises phosphate binder in the form of aqueous solution, titanium dioxide, heat resistant black pigment, magnesium oxide and milled glass with particle size of 49-51 mcm. Combination of components in certain ratio results in proper adhesion to substrate and to pastel piece of painting, atmospheric resistance, resistance to attrition, and fire resistance.
