FIELD: mining technology. SUBSTANCE: this relates to development of deposits containing solid minerals. According to method, at least one advance quarry with accompanying mineral is created. Main deposit of mineral is opened and prepared for operation with delivery and placement of overburden material in worked-out space of advance quarry. In development of deposit, volume of worked-out space in advance quarry is formed so as to be equal to volume of overburden materials of main quarry which is subject for placement to outside dumps minus amount of rock materials placed in benches of dump or in benches of deposit in territory of filled advance quarry above level of surrounding territory. Application of aforesaid method allows for enhancing efficiency and ecological safety of opencast development of mineral deposits. EFFECT: high efficiency. 2 dwg
