FIELD: treatment of solid radioactive wastes formed upon recovery of irradiated nuclear fuel. SUBSTANCE: upon treatment of solid phase of radioactive wastes, hydrogen and urea peroxide solutions are introduced in nitric acid solution and treatment is continued at nitric acid concentration in solution between 0.01 and 0.2 mole/l. EFFECT: improved amount of long-living nuclides extracted from solid phase during decontamination.
