FIELD: industrial ammonium nitrate explosives such as grammonite useful for explosive work on open-cut minings. SUBSTANCE: industrial explosive is prepared by method of dry granulation of molten trotyl suspension and ammonium nitrate powder followed by mixing the resulting granules with hydrophobic additive, the ratio of components being as follows (wt %): 27-43 ammonium nitrate; 1.0-1.5 hydrophobic additive; and the trotyl balance.
