FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: petroleum is distilled in presence of steam and azeotrope mixtures of water with one or several fractions (gasoline, ligroin, kerosene, and others) are taken off. Petroleum is desalted and dehydrated after rectification with taking off one or more hydrocarbon fractions. Distillation is carried out at water- hydrocarbon azeotrope boiling temperature.
