FIELD: removal of oil impurities. SUBSTANCE: when utilizing crude oil and its products spilled in production and transportation phases as well as when removing oil sludge and other organic sediments from storage tanks, expenses can be reduced if using, as solvent, chloroorganic compounds' production by-products, for example, 1,2-dichloropropane and 1,2,3- trichloropropane, or chloroorganic substances produced from wastes originated from production of chloroorganic compounds, for example, from vinyl chloride production wastes. Solvent is stripped from collected oil with water azeotrope mixture and reutilized. Remains of solvent are removed from purified sludge or ground with live steam or smoke fumes. The latter are freed from solvent by way of passing them through oil-polluted ground. EFFECT: reduced cost of operation. 4 cl, 3 dwg
